The Gold Coast copped a hammering from a band of storms mid afternoon, causing wide spread blackouts from the Northern suburbs of Helensvale and Coomera right down to Surfers Paradise. Many businesses closed due to flooding and the roads had all come to a crawl in most suburbs due to heavy rain.
More storms are predicted with heavy rain and the chance of hail so best keep your car undercover and away from trees and power lines. Don’t forget to tie down any loose items as well that could be caught in the strong winds.
