The stroll was an interesting one This Morning, obviously the surf was pumping pretty much everywhere, but there were also other things around sparking interest. Never a dull day on the Goldie….

Pulled up at Greenmount again as I thought it would be nice to wander around in the Sun. Rested on the railing you see here, right where all this commotion was going on (I was too intent on the outlook). In a matter of seconds what seemed like a hundred of these things were doing the runner up my arm (shoulda seen my moves as I shook them off)!
Anyway, got rid of them all and grabbed some pics from the outlook as well
It’s been a good start to year swell wise, a week of good rides, hot days and clear water. Plenty of crowds to but I guess when you live in the great spot we do, you need to expect that.
The waves look to drop off over the next few days but lets hope we get some swell back soon.

An overcast, and sticky hot Weekend for the Goldie again. Showers and the chance of afternoon storms are the forecast, probably correct with all the humidity around.
We checked out the southern breaks early, the swell was a little smaller than what we thought it would be but it was still a good wave from Dbah up to Burleigh. Snapper to Greenmount was the pick, with next to no wind, it was dishing up nice, clean, long rides, and both short and long board riders were having a field day. It was a little busy but very consistant.
Here are some of the better pics from these spots.

A cold start to the day with temps hovering around 5-6 deg at sunrise. The swell had only picked up marginally over night but hopefully should increase throughout the remainder of the week.
Rainbow Bay put on a welcoming Morning, once again beautiful clear skies and nice little waves rolling in. There weren’t too many waves about but for those that were out there, I’m sure they got their quota. It was a longboard morning with the waves that were caught, providing decent lasting rides.

Hard to complain about anything when you have days like these. The weather, unbelievable, the surf wonderful. Autumn on the Goldie is renowned for it’s cooler nights but awesome days and we are experiencing a classic Autumn at the moment.
The surf has dropped somewhat from the consistent large swell we have had but the beaches have started to come back into play. Looking forward to early next week, the forecast has predicted another bout of biggies to roll on through… Sweet!
Taken at Burleigh on Saturday. Quite a beautiful morning with good surf, meaning a number of surfers out hustling for the waves. When one person sees a set and paddles, the rest follow. The problem is, sometimes there are just so many dudes and limited waves that drop-ins occur….sometimes unavoidable but other times, well, it’s just not cool doing that.
On the flip side, the forecast is looking pretty good for a surf for the rest of the week and over Easter….fingers crossed we get more waves and weather like this.
