Aaahhh Duranbah!
Warm and sultry, morning clouds, still air and stormy forecast for the afternoon which came true. It’s been warm and you can feel Summer just around the corner…. you can also tell by the lack of swell at the moment… BUT, we know it only takes a bit of Natures best to get things moving for us. So it’s just a matter of waiting out this period and hopefully we get a bit early next week.

A few out but messy
Making the most of a little
Duranbah lookout early on an overcast morning
When the weather turns foul as in this case, with wind and rain, it generally leads to chilling out and grabbing a vid or watching some footy. Usually however, bad weather means good surf!
Over the weekend the winds were up, a fair bit of rain and in most places the surf pumping. It was messy at the open beaches with only wind protected points giving some joy, but it is kudos to those willing to get out and surf in these conditions cause it has been big. We sat at Burleigh point for a while and watched. Several dudes jumped in at the cove and were hammered, wave after wave, found themselves swept north, only to finally pull the pin and make back for the shore. For those few that did make it out, hats off.
Hope you guys had a good surf.
I’ve taken a hiatus for the Holidays but thought would share a few pics from Burleigh. These are few shots taken on this overcast, rain filled morning, using my phone. It’s amazing how good these things are! Would be a lot nicer with some sun and some clean waves… we might get that later today.

Today looks like it will be a day very similar to yesterday, overcast and showery, with some glimpses of the Sun. Temperature is quite Moderate and nice for a walk but the surf is not really much chop (at the moment anyways)… counted all of two surfers out this Morning at the Point and they weren’t having much luck with the waves.
Hopefully things clean up over the next day or two.

Morning, I thought there might have been a little more in the way of a wave this Morning. While the sets coming through were in the 2-3ft mark they just seemed a little full and weak. Maybe they will present better at the 10 o’clock high tide.
The clouds were quite ominous and in the distance you could see rain falling over the horizon from these clouds, however the sun, trying to push through, was as always, quite beautiful… Had to take a few pics of this as below.
Have a good day.

Good Morning,
Welcome to another overcast day. More rain expected today believe it or not. There may even be rain for the next week or more, not sure how many days in a row that gives us but it is a plenty alright. Gotta hand it to the lifesavers though, always present, ever watchful.
Surf is not too bad though, big and messy at Burleigh but there are definitely some rideable waves out. These shots were taken early, in the rain, and before there was any real light about but overall, it was not too bad out.

Sometimes when you least expected, a loving gesture, or a moment of faith snaps you into reality and you realise the world has wonderful people in it. Along Burliegh you will find wrapped around a tree, a beautiful message of love, it’s really quite personal and it really sinks in. There are photos attached to the message but best you have a look for yourself.
Surf wise, it’s a little messy still, some people out but it’s really only if you are desperate.
