Donavon Frankenreiter brings his cool moustache back to the Gold coast playing live at the Miami Tavern Shark bar on Thursday the 2nd of April. He will also play us some of his new tunes from the new album “Start Livin'” and no doubt blast out some of his best.
He is one of our favourites and always puts on a great show, so get along and check it out.
When: Thu 2 Apr 2015, 7:00pm
Where Miami Tavern Shark Bar, 2043 Gold Coast Hwy, Gold Coast
Restrictions: All Ages
4th Ave Beach Access. Built after a major beach erosion period about a year ago. When first built the stairs at the bottom were above the sand level, good to see Mother Nature bringing some back
Always a good spot to park yourself for a day at the beach (just get here early on a nice day to get a park!) as there is the esplanade with bbq areas and playgrounds, and very well laid out access to the beach. Here you see the access from 4th Ave next to the patrolled swimming section supervised by the Lifesavers making it popular with families. Most access points have showers and fresh water for drinking with 4th Ave having easily accessible male and female toilets. Nice views to the South of Burleigh and then North to Miami and Surfers Paradise round off this little part of the World.
Generally there are couple of banks for the surfers just North and South of this access point and, mostly hold up well for the Mornings but deteriorate in the afternoon. Usually a good fun wave and not normally crowded.
Swell-less again, another lay day for the Quickie and Roxy Pros?
Whether there is competition or not today, people are already up and organizing and planning for the day ahead. This is Snapper pre-Dawn, that streak of light you can seen on the right is actually coming from the Tractor doing the beach sweep, you just can’t see the tractor with the slow shutter speed.
Apart from these guys up, there was not much happening here so Dbar was the next stop and even that was not surf-able. Apparently, with luck, there is swell coming our way towards the end of the week.
Q: What happens to a frog’s car when it breaks down?
A: It gets toad away.
The stroll was an interesting one This Morning, obviously the surf was pumping pretty much everywhere, but there were also other things around sparking interest. Never a dull day on the Goldie….
The swell was up but for very experienced surfers only, so, when that’s the case and you need a bit of excitement what do you do?
You find all the red plastic you can get your hands on and set up one big-ass soapy slide to get your fix. Ha, this looked like so much fun, a lot of the crowd were ready to join in.
It’s good to see the lifesavers are still on patrol doing their bit. Actually, we saw more lifesavers out today then ever before, so hats off to them for being ever vigilant and ready.
